Isaac has been counting down the time until he could become a cub scout for about 2 years. After we moved to Ogden, we weren't sure where a local tiger den was. After a few phone calls, we found a great one in Layton, Ut. The cub master is a good friend whose husband also works for the scouts. She faced the same problem a couple of years ago, and put a den together.
After we signed Isaac up, he immediately wanted to start memorizing all the stuff to earn his Bobcat. We would repeat the cub scout promise all day long together - in the car, in the bath tub, at dinner, and before bed. Within a week he had everything memorized.

At his 1st Pack mtg he was awarded the bobcat badge. The cub master gave it to him upside down and told him he needed to do a good turn first, before he could sew it on right side up.
Isaac has already passed off 8 achievements for the next pack mtg. He has so much enthusiasm for cub scouts. I'm so excited for him. This will be a great way for him to meet lots of new kids, learn new skills and have fun.

Now that Ethan is 8 years old, he is involved in 2 wolf dens; the community and our ward. We previously blogged about his Pine wood Derby competition in the community pack in March. Ethan lucked out at having a second chance this year. The Ward Pinewood Derby competition was the end of April.
