What we did for Christmas

Christmas Eve we spent at Josh's parents house. The kids started out the afternoon sledding, Haacke style. Josh's father has these black sleds, that we tie to the end of the 4 wheelers and go around his yard. The kids love it.
Then after soup, and bread sticks, we played the ball of fun.
This Christmas was a little different for us. We woke up to a phone call from Josh parents at 5:30 a.m. It was snowing pretty hard and they couldn't get through the canyon. We had a nice, but quiet Christmas morning opening presents and eating breakfast.
After breakfast, we called road conditions, only snow chains or 4 wheel drive was allowed threw the canyon. Although it wasn't snowing hard at that time, I had a bad feeling inside that was telling me it the snow was going to get worse. We made the decision not to drive to Lindon to spend Christmas day with my side. We didn't really know what to do with ourselves. We are usually gone the whole day. The kids enjoyed playing with their new toys, I made a turkey dinner, we watched a movie, read Luke 2 from the scriptures and just really enjoyed being together as a family for Christmas.
About 6:00 p.m. they main part of the storm hit with avengence. It was a complete white out blizzard out side. We were so glad we were not trying to drive home in that mess. By morning we were shoveling about 18 inches of new snow out side.
We did have a wonderful Christmas, different but very nice.
