Packing

We have to be out tomorrow, June 1st at 12:00 p.m. That is when the carpet cleaner is coming. So we began the process of packing everything we own last week, and weeding out the things we don't need anymore. Boy, you don't realize how much stuff you have till you have to pack it all. We rented a u-haul truck that Josh picked up last Friday night. We got the largest one they had, 26 feet. Josh said it was a monster to drive through town.
We worked very hard, and had everything in boxes and out in the garage for the Elders quorum (Men from our church) to help load the truck. The only thing they had to lift from the house was the piano and the couches. They were all done in 1/2 hour. We were given the award for the most prepared movers the Ward had ever seen. Then Josh drove to the storage unit in Farr West where Von and all his friends along with Uncle Joel and Jed helped unload everything. The last stop was the house to unload the piano and food. We couldn't have done it with out all these wonderful men helping. Thank you!
We decided to spend Saturday and Sunday night in our old house in sleeping bags. We had to be very creative to find ways to entertain the kids with nothing in the house. We played duck duck goose, and told lots of stories. It was then we remembered we could watch DVD's on the computer.
I'm so glad the first part of our move is almost over. Tomorrow I will finish cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms before we hand over the keys and sign the papers. I will be driving up all week so the kids can finish their last week of school.
