Easter Fun

We started off the week with a family home evening lesson about the true meaning of Easter. We have the plastic eggs that are filled with the symbols of Christs last week on this earth. We read the scriptures that correspond and talked about each symbol.

On Friday the kids were excited to open a package from my parents. It was filled with Easter treats.

Saturday morning the kids woke up very surprised to have found out the Easter bunny came a day early. He left a note saying he knew church was early on Sunday and wanted to help out by coming early. The two older kids found the note to be very suspicious. Ethan said, "The Easter bunnies handwriting looks just like yours Mom". Oops!(It was later that day that Sarah finally figured everything out, but that's a post for another day). After they went on a hunt to find there baskets and eggs, Josh made breakfast. We then packed up and went to Lee's grocery store for a Easter egg hunt there. We came home and colored eggs. I know, out of order, but it was a late night decision to move it to Saturday.

Sunday came and it was such a wonderful day. We were not rushed in the morning. We were able to listen to church music, eat cold cereal and get ready for 9:00 a.m. sacrament meeting. After church we made orange rolls, then headed to Josh's parents for dinner. They had a Easter egg hunt for the kids outside. After we had a traditional ham, potato dinner. For dessert we dipped fresh fruit in chocolate. Yummy.
On the way home Josh and I discussed how nice it was to split the day up and do our family things on Saturday.
